Cancellations & Refund Policies

  • NIGHTLY RESERVATIONS: 50% deposit of reservation total is due when reserved. Your balance is due and is processed on your credit card after 12:01 am on the day of your expected arrival at which time it becomes non-refundable.
  • CANCELLATIONS: A $65 fee is charged if canceled more than 14 days from expected arrival. Within 14 days your deposit is forfeited.
  • REFUNDS: It can take up to 21 business days for you to receive any refunds due.
  • RESCHEDULES: Reschedules are handled EXACTLY like cancellations.
  • ONE NIGHT RESERVATIONS: Rate is higher than posted 2-night rate, due in full when reserved and non-refundable. The balance due on your reservation will be processed when we receive your reservation.
  • SAME DAY RESERVATIONS/ NO-SHOWS/ GIFT RESERVATIONS: These are all Due in full & non-refundable.
  • WEDDING / PRIVATE EVENT/ SEMINAR RESERVATIONS: These are all due per agreement and funds are non-refundable once received.
  • POLICY on SMOKING: As a NO SMOKING Inn, we charge a carpet & linen cleaning fee of $500 if cigarette, cigar, or pipe odors, in our discretion, are detected upon your departure. You may smoke in parking areas away from the gates where guests enter or exit the property. Please no vaping in rooms or common areas.
  • POLICY on FOOD and BEVERAGES: If you so desire, you are free to enjoy food and hard liquor in your room. However, because we are a commercially licensed food service establishment, guests are not permitted to bring prepared foods, or beverages containing hard liquor, to our courtyard, cafe or pavilion area. Your wine or beer is allowed in the courtyard but not on the oceanfront deck when food service is occurring. NOTE: Because we offer wine & champagne in our gift shop, you MUST ADVISE US if anyone in your party is under the age of 21.
  • POLICY on MAID SERVICE: Our “HONEYMOON SUITES” (Aruba, Barbados, and St.Martin) Include maid service upon request. ALL other rooms are priced without maid service to make them more affordable to everyone. You may add this service for $30 per morning in Bonaire, Bequia, Tobago, Bahamas, and St. Bart’s.
  • POLICY on FRIENDS & FAMILY: Our property is EXCLUSIVELY for our GUESTS that have paid to stay here in a quiet and private environment. Please explain this to friends & family so they DO NOT plan to visit you at our Inn. The number of persons staying in your room may not exceed the Maximum Occupancy for your room.
  • POLICY on GIFT CERTIFICATES If the cost of your room has been covered by a gift certificate or a silent auction item, your non-refundable reservation may not be rescheduled once reserved.
  • POLICY on “Pets” and ADA “SERVICE ANIMALS”: “ADA SERVICE ANIMALS” are welcome in any room without pet fees. PLEASE NOTE: Emotional Support animals are NOT ADA approved and therefore are considered “pets” which we do not allow. It is a FEDERAL CRIME to fake a “Service Animal”. PLEASE BE AWARE strict leash & pick-up laws apply in Flagler Beach.
  • POLICY on CHILDREN: Because of the nature of our property, our Inn is not designed for children under the age of 16.

CREDIT CARD SECURITY
Your credit card information is stored and processed securely. 
 
CHECK-INS ARE BY APPOINTMENT AFTER 3 PM.
We run errands around your selected check-in time so please call AT LEAST 3 hours ahead if you are running early or late so we are sure to be here to check you in. Thank You for your courtesy. Sorry, check-ins before 3 pm are not available.

AGE LIMIT

GUEST INFORMATION
It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and REQUIREMENT to provided Island Cottage with the names and ages of everyone in this reservation under the age of 21. **SORRY, we do not accept children under the age of 16.
 
DAILY MAID SERVICE
Daily maid service is included in our Aruba, Barbados, and St. Martin rooms. However, it is optional in all other rooms – $30/morning.

General Information

    • If you are on a Special Rate or Package, you will lose that discount if you alter any of the requirements for that special or package – or if you reschedule your reservation and that rate, discount or package is no longer offered.
    • Inn guests who Marry or Renew Vows on the Inn’s private property automatically accept our charge of $495 for the use of the Inn’s private beach & private dune walkover plus $10 for each additional person. Please make prior arrangements w/ the Innkeeper to get the most for your $495 fee.
    • If our local sales tax or bed tax is increased, you automatically accept that your balance will be adjusted to reflect the new tax rate.
    • Sorry, there are no refunds given for early departures, late arrivals, inclement weather or if beach, pool, or other amenities are not available during your stay.
    • Full Refunds are offered if Flagler Beach or the town you live in is under a hurricane watch or warning during your stay or up to 3 days before your expected arrival.
    • Beach and Pool items, Bicycles & Helmets are provided. Staying at Island Cottage is your automatic acceptance to release I.C. owners & staff from injuries resulting from the use of any of these items.
    • Staying at Island Cottage gives us the right to charge your card for any unpaid balance due for additional persons, added spa services, gift shop items, additional housekeeping requests, loss of or damage to our bicycles/helmets/linens etc. plus it guarantees that, unless you have advised us otherwise, everyone in your party is over the age of 21.
    • If without our prior approval you have brought a child, infant or pet with you, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation without refund.

Offerings & Amenities

  • As a boutique hotel, we offer a number of optional upgrades like Roses, Champagne, Spa Services, and Gourmet Breakfast, to name a few. All our Optional Upgrades require at least a 5-day notice and a 2-night stay or more.
    FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT: There are several wonderful restaurants in the area, many overlooking the ocean.
  • For those who wish to prepare a light meal in your room, a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, utensils, and microwave have all been provided.
  • We also provide bathrobes, candles, hairdryers, beach towels & umbrellas.
